Edinburgh Zoo

On Friday afternoon, Harrison has a half day of school. We decided to take a bike ride to the zoo. The path we took wound along the Water of Leith with some beautiful views (unfortunately I forgot the camera today!). We passed by the rugby stadium (Murrayfield Stadium) on the way - it is just massive (we went a little further than we needed to). The ride took a lot longer than we expected and we only go there after 4PM so we only had a short time before the zoo closed at 6PM. Many of the animals were sleeping or in there shelters for the evening. We did see some great monkeys swinging in a large and high outdoor enclosure, a few, sleeping, big cats and a great display of a variety of penguins. Apparently earlier in the afternoon the penguins go on a little march around the zoo which will be great to see one of these days. The zoo is built on a hill so it is an interesting layout. We bought seasons passes as we expect to visit a number of times.
