On a particularly windy day we went up to Calton hill to try to fly a kite (try is the operative word). Edinburgh is sometimes called "Athens of the North" and you can see why from these pictures. This is a replica of the Parthenon that was built in the 1820s but never completed. You can see the views from Calton hill are spectacular. It's about a 15 minute walk from where we live.

Day Trip to Greece?
