Edinburgh Doors Open Day

Edinburgh Doors Open Day is an annual event in which many of the cities protected historic sites are open to the public. Phil, Harrison and Parker took advantage of this opportunity and accessed some of the protected sites on Calton Hill including an ancient graveyard and the Calton Hill Observatory.

Of interest was the resting place of the famous Scottish philosopher David Hume. Phil and the boys got to go right inside the monument marking the gravesite with its circular view of the sky above. Many of the the graves were three or four hundred years old.
