Edinburgh Scholar

This week I received my certificate for my Edinburgh International Scholarship. It was a grand ceremony with the heads of the university and schools with entertainment from the university choir and an organ recital. I was in the very first row so I was across the stage within a minute of the beginning of the presentations so I had a long time to study other people as they were receiving their awards. The awards ceremony took place at MacEwan Hall the beautiful building where we had our initial induction. Afterwards there was a wine and canape reception at the Playfair Library. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but as usual the room itself was large and ornate. We talked to a lot of other scholars and some of the university brass. Phil and I had a great time and finished off the evening with a quiet meal together at a restaurant near our home.
