At the end of October we decided to take Parker out of nursery. He wasn't enjoying it there and didn't seem to be getting anything out of the experience. Instead, Phil decided to take him to local play groups and parent-tot swimming lessons. We are so glad that we made this decision. Parker loves the play groups and swimming. He is happy when he knows he is going to go to one of these activities and says that he has fun. At the play groups, there are a lot of toys to play with and Parker is comfortable to explore and interact with the other children with Phil nearby. Parker loves singing the songs in playgroup and we often hear him singing, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", and "Old MacDonald". Phil is getting a kick out of the unique take on some of the songs we know from home. "The ladies on the bus go chatter, chatter, chatter, while the daddies on the bus go read, read, read!" Phil gets an opportunity to meet other parents (although admitedly mostly moms) which is also an added benefit. Parker also enjoys swimming and is picking up skills like blowing bubbles and kicking quickly. He is a water baby like Harrison was. It is very heartening to see Parker so happy and we definitely know we made the right decision : )
