End Of Term

Hallelujah - I've made it through the first semester of my Master's program! I really enjoyed my courses and learned a lot in a very short period of time. The work is intense because they pack a lot into a short amount of time. This semester I had classes on the basics like statistics and research methods along with classes specific to my program including brain imaging, cognitive neuroscience and working memory. Although my classes on brain imaging were most intellectually demanding, I've gained an understanding and interest in the use of these techniques to see the inner workings of the brain.

By the beginning of December, I had to complete two essays and, unfortunately, one exam (statistics). I will not find out my results until January, hopefully things went well! I only get a short rest because I now have 3 more essays to complete for the second and third week of January. Classes start again on the week of January 14. I'm most looking forward to my course on clinical neuropsychology which runs over both blocks of the second semester and the course on frontal lobe functioning. I will also be getting into my dissertation starting in January.
