A relaxing Christmas in Spain

Since trans-Atlantic travel is so expensive from Canada, we have wanted take advantage of already living overseas to goto some more exotic destinations when Harriet's schedule permits. We flew to into Palma on the island of Mallorca which is one of the Balleric Islands. Mallorca is part of Spain but is not part of the mainland. Thankfully we lucked out with good weather and with the choice of hotel ... we stayed in a wonderful golf and spa resort ... the Marriot Mallorca Son Antem (check out the link at the right). It is one of a handful of 5 star hotels on the island and they really lived up to this rating with great food, lots of opportunities for sports and best of all included in our room rate was a 30 minute massage every day for both Harriet and I (awesome!) Even Harrison went one day for a massage to try it out ... of course he loved it. Harrison went to their "Kids' Club" a couple of days to do organized arts & crafts and other fun things. Although our resort offered us nearly everything and little reason to leave, it wasn't either in the big city nor near the beach so one day we took a cab into town to check out their big aquarium and the ocean with amazing clear water and empty beaches ... this time of year but during high season it is packed! We really really really enjoyed this vacation, the warmer and sunnier weather, and the opportunity to "unwind" together.
