Mothers' Day comes early

Well most of you reading this are in North America where Mothers' Day is in May ... you may be surprised to know (as I was) that Mothers' Day in the UK is celebrated at the beginning of March (today in fact, the first Sunday ... March 2nd). After I finished teaching yoga, we all as a family took a bus to a small village south-west of Edinburgh called Balerno and went hiking from the beginning of the Water of Leith walkway back towards Edinburgh for about an hour and a half ... we probably walked about 3 miles (Parker's pace which was quite enjoyably slow) but the pathway continues for another 9 miles passing close to our flat and ending at the docks in Leith / Edinburgh. It was a great afternoon and particularly gratifying to see our children enjoying being outside and getting a "natural high".

Harrison gave Harriet cards he made at Beavers (scouting) and at school. Parker gave Harriet a bookmark he made at play group and on behalf of all of us I gave Harriet flowers and a sports watch to replace the one she had that recently broke. As I write this blog it is the late afternoon and I am making a nice supper of roasted lamb (one of Harriet's favourites) while Parker has a nap and Harriet and Harrison are out watching an early movie at the cinema. While the lamb is roasting I am enjoying a quiet glass of wine and writing this blog for the last couple of weeks.

Happy Mother's Day , Harriet!
I was thrilled to receive your birthday wish on Feb 20th and finally have a chance to sit doown and tell you so! It took me 6 times of listening to your message so I could make out the coordinates of your blog! hahaha! Each time- the message brought me a giggle!
It was so thoughtful of you to call- and it REALLY made my day! I am going to keep that message for awhile. You just never know when you might need a pick me up! Anyway, my 32nd birthday went off well ......the fact that in reality I am 5 years older then that DOESN'T MATTER! I am staying at 32 for now!
Love you guys lots....keep in touch (what's your e-mail address anyway?)
