Linlithgow is awesome!

April 12th, Phil and the boys went by train to Linlithgow (about 20 minutes west of Edinburgh towards Glasgow). It is a weekend where all of the Historic Scotland sites are free so we went to Linlithgow Palace ... construction was started on it in 1425 and took more than 100 years. It was the home of the Stuart kings and the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots in 1542. It is absolutely amazing and, although in ruins, the structures are still intact and the guided tour brings to mind a vivid image of life at that time. While in Linlithgow we three also hiked around Linlithgow Loch (lake) ... about 4kms and enjoyed the swans, geese, playgrounds, and parks that we came across. It was a great day!
