We are happy to say that Parker is settling very well in his nursery school as well. In Scotland children from age 3 are eligible for subsidized nursery school placements so they start in a school environment a couple of years earlier than they do in Canada . We were worried that Parker would have some difficulty as he has not liked being at day care in the past. This time we really built up his excitement about school and bought him a special school back pack which he is keen to where almost anytime he goes out to school or when we go out on hikes. So far he likes his school and always says he has had a good day. Right now he is at school for half a day, however, later in September he will also go to nursery school in the afternoon at the same school Harrison attends. Parker has visited this other nursery and always asks when he is going to get to go to two schools.
We have also been fortunate to find a great nanny for the kids. She's a trained school teacher from Canada and she and the kids are getting along really well. Phil and I both don't have any major commitments right now but we wanted her to start building a relationship with the kids before we start back to work and school. Needless to say Phil and I have been enjoying the extra time right now we get to enjoy as a couple!
