Moving to a new home

Harriet's doctorate studies through St Andrews university are really coming along well and she has been busy recently with 1st year summaries, coordinating with the hospital, and recruiting patients for research. I have now worked for more than two months and absolutely love the job and the people I work with. Needing to move closer to university and work, we looked around and bought a really small 2 bedroom flat in a great neighbourhood called Broughty Ferry which is a small village/neighbourhood towards the east end of Dundee. The flat (which we take possession of at the end of June) is a short walk to the primary school for the kids, along a bus route, and only about 4 blocks from the shore. There is a beautiful beach looking out to where the River Tay meets the ocean and across the firth of Tay south to Fife.

Buying a home seemed the right thing to do considering relatively low prices after the recent housing price tumble, decent interest rates, and knowing that we are going to be here for another couple of years. After that time we can sell it or maybe keep it and rent it out as an investment. Either way we are super excited to have a place of our own. Broughty Ferry really is a great area and is only a few miles away from Carnoustie where the world famous British Open is sometimes held. Our friends and family who are avid golfers might want to check out the link on the right. Even though our new flat is small (less than 700 square feet) it is done up nicely with a recently renovated kitchen and bathroom and we hope to entice people out to visit and stay with us (we can always make room).
