Christmas greetings from the Johnstons

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family reading this blog. We hope that for all of you this holiday season is shared with your loved ones and that it brings time to reflect on the good things over the past year. This has been a exceptional year for us with many things to be thankful for ... especially a new job for Phil and a move for all of us to Dundee where we bought a modest apartment a short walk from the beach and amazing views out onto the North Sea.

This year there were lots of highlights for us including hiking and camping , a family trip to Germany, and more exploring into Northern England and the Perthshire area of Scotland. Last year we returned to Canada for Christmas in Ontario with family. This year we are spending the holidays in our own home and are welcoming Blake (Phil's nephew and Godson) to spend it with us.

While our summers are considerably cooler than Canada (on a really exceptionally good day getting only into the low 20's) our winters are much more pleasant and today (Sunday December 6th) we enjoyed a sunny afternoon along the beach taking some family photos in regular clothes and in our "Scottish attire". All of us now have tartans and it's a good thing too since next weekend we are going to a family celeidh (party and dance).

May you all have a great holiday and have health and happiness in 2010.

Phil, Harriet, Harrison, and Parker.
