Awesome Hiking

Harrison had Friday (Feb 12) off school on an "inservice" day so I took the day off work and together we took the train to the West Coast near Glasgow and hiked 10 MILES!!!! We then spent the night in a Wigwam (a small unheated wooden structure) on a rural farm. It was cold but we had warm gear and it was worth it to see awesome scenery and especially the most awesome clear and star-filled sky. We had a great time although it was hard walking. Pretty amazing hiking for a 9 year old I think!

We saw signs of spring already with a variation of crocus sprouting up. There were some gaggles of geese honking that we watched flying in formation. Harrison spotted a couple of deer too. Then today we woke up (Saturday the 13th) and after a bit of a slow start to the day we then walked another mile to catch a bus and then train back to Dundee. It was a very satisfying father / son outdoor activity together.
