Boat Cruise to Inchcolm Island

On Monday we decided to continue our adventures by taking a boat trip to Inchcolm Island. Inchcolm is an island in the Firth of Forth about half an hour boat ride from the South Queensferry dock near the Firth of Forth bridges in Edinburgh. It was a beautiful sunny day so we were glad to have left the boat ride for our final adventure. The island is known for its variety of bird life and sea life including seals, whales and dolphins. We were lucky enough to see some seals playing and basking in the sun in the waters surrounding the island.

After our boat trip we decided to have a pub lunch at Hawes Inn. The setting of Robert Louis Stevenson's book "Kidnapped". Then we took the long walk to North Queensferry across the Firth of Forth bridge and finally caught the train back into city centre.
